Pete McKee Charity Bags
Pete McKee was born in 1966 and grew up on a Sheffield council estate. These working class roots provide a major source of inspiration for his poignant and often humourous paintings. He was a commercial artist who decided to concentrate on his painting in 2003 and began by painting with emulsion on MDF boards. Pete opened his first ever London show, entitled "Lost Weekends" in 2007 and has also exhibited in Birmingham and New York since then. In 2007 he was commisioned by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to paint him as part of Gibson guitars "Guitar Town" show. Pete painted a portrait of the gitarist onto a ten foot fibreglass guitar which displayed as part of the open air exhibition on London's South Bank.
