Christmas Draw - Captain Hook's Hampers

Hello, my name is Carol

I am a volunteer at the Cavendish Centre and have been co-ordinating the Christmas Raffle for the last five years.

I became involved with the Centre after my family used the services as carers of someone with cancer. I have experienced counselling and various other therapies, so I know at first hand how valuable the service offered is. Cavendish Cancer Care is a self-funding organisation who continue to offer all help and support free of charge.

The Centre relies on donations and fundraising events such as the Christmas Raffle. Last year’s Christmas draw raised just over £4000, but this year, with all charities feeling the effects of the credit crunch, I would really like to try and better that amount to help the doors stay wide open. That won't be possible without YOUR Help, tickets are available by telephoning the Centre or this year we are able to accept payment by paypal for books of tickets.

As normal, we have a number of luxury hampers that will surely make your Christmas go with a swing. All these hampers and other prizes for the draw are donated by patients, staff and volunteers. Raffle tickets are on sale at the Centre, and I really hope that you will be able to help our fundraising efforts by buying some tickets and selling them to friends and family.  Bobby Knutt, pictured drawing the winning tickets last year from his dressing room at Sheffield Theatres. Bobby is only appearing virtually in this years Panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs so we are lucky enough to ahve Toyah Willcox picking the winning ticket before the evening performance on 17th December.........hence Snow White and the Seven Hampers

Please try to encourage your friends and family to buy one of our Christmas draw tickets. I know money is tight for everyone at this time of year but we really would appreciate any amount, large or small. From a personal point of view, I know how much difference the Cavendish has made to my life.

 Thanks Carol x
